IEEE is the world's largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community through IEEE's highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities.

The IEEE Gujarat section is one of the small and most important one in the Asia-Pacific region. IEEE Gujarat Section comes under Asia-Pacific Region, the Region 10 of IEEE. The Gujarat Section, a sub section of Bombay Section, was upgraded to full fledged section on 15th August 1990. In 2004 Gujarat Section was adjudged the Outstanding Small Section of Region 10.

The student branch at Nirma University, since its beginning in 2000 has been very vibrant in activites of IEEE, with its students attending various Student congresses, Conferences, Networking events, etc.
